I have put together a sampling of the more popular movies put up on the big screen in 2008. This list consists of the movies I enjoyed watching this year. Hopefully you will see some films here that are good viewing.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: Searching for his brother, science professor Trevor Anderson goes on a mission that puts him on a journey to the center of earth. This is a remake of the original 1959 movie, that was created from the classic novel by celbrated writer Jules Verne. Directed by eric brevig, and starring Brendan Fraser.
STEP BROTHERS: When two child like older men, who each live with their single parents, will now have to live in the same room because their parents have wed, we see that they are bound to have problems. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell as the key players, and you have the ingredients for a racous comedy. This seems like a sure thing if your looking for some laughs.
HAMLET 2: Unsucessful actor Dana Marshz has moved on to teaching the high school theater classes to students who just don't care. When the high school loses a major building, the powers to be feel the useless theater coarses will be what is dropped. Wanting to fight, he plans to save the program by producing Hamlet 2, an original interpretation of the Shakespeare classic, which he writes himself.
WANTED: Wesley Gibson is about to learn that the father he never knew, is a professional killer. His father is killed, and now he is being recruited into the organization that his father was a part of. He is asked to become the professional killer that is in his blood. From that point on, this movie gets extremely complicated. Enjoy the ride.
ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: Rent is over due and Zack and Miri, platonic friends since childhoold, really need to find an answer to their money problems. What will they do? Easy, start making pornos. As you can imagine this is a perfect enviornment for lots of laughs.
Jumper: Nearing death by drowning, David Rice discovers an amazing thing. He now knows he can actually teleport himself anywhere, anytime. Eventually, he discovers that he is not the only one that has this capability. After he becomes used to jumping around the world, he learns that there are people that think jumpers are a threat, and need to be eliminated. He must fight for his life, as the hunters believe he should die.
THE CHRONICALS OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN: Just one year has passed in there "regular" lives, when Edmund, Peter, Susan, and Lucy are teleported back to Narnia. Prince Caspian has blownn Susan's magic horn, in a desparate plea for help. 100's of years have passed since they left Narnia, but the four legendary characters have be summoned back to rescue Narnia from an evil fate. With the aid of the the bravest in the forrest, including, a dwarf, the centaurs, and a very skilled mouse, they conquer their foes and free Narnia.
IRON MAN: Playboy, engineer genius, Tony Stark is taken hostage by Afghan fighters. They force him to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He was injured during his capture, and he has shrapnel lodged in his chest. To overcome his wound, and escape this predicament, he designs a suit of armor, which protects and strengthens him. We now have another super hero, Iron Man.
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: Wild and crazy nights in Las Vegas are normal. Barely remembering what had happened, Jack and Joy wake up and soon realize that they had married each other the night before. After winning a huge jackpot, the question is who should get the money, so they try to settle it in court. It is decided that for the next few months they must stay together, and try to make their marriage work. With an eye on the jackpot, the battle is on as both want to have the cash for themselves.
