Have You Heard About the New Iphone?

The Iphone and Web Browsing

Research shows that a surprising number of Apple iPhone users, around 85% regularly browse the web as well on their iPhones, which is much more than the average, even for owners of smartphones. Thus, web browsing on iPhone seems to be a much more pleasant experience for the users.

Finding Information Through Technology

The web can be navigated on iPhones, using Safari, the web browser of Mac OS X for example as well, and many users report the ease of use that Safari and generally the Apple iPhone provides for them. What is of primary importance is that users do not have to browse simplified, dumbed-down versions of web pages, they can see everything one would normally see on a normal-sized screen. Everything is much smaller, and users generally have to zoom in to see the web page in more details.

However, they can get used to flipping through the pages quite easily, as the touchscreen of Apple iPhone proves to be highly use-friendly. It is moreover also of quite great importance that the resolution of the iPhone screen is around the double of other smartphones, thus pictures and generally the browsed sites will be nice, vivid and easy to see.

One major disadvantage though seems to be that the phones do not yet support flash technology. Thus many sites can simply not be downloaded, one will either be redirected to a non-flash version of the site or will have to realize that the web browsing experience on an iPhone can not yet be totally satisfying.

Text Input

The experience of browsing the web is generally substantially influenced by he extent of ease and speed one can write. Iphone utilizes a virtual keyboard technology for text input. While some can not at all get used to the experience of this virtual keyboard and the initial unease it takes to get used to it, even some iPhone accessories have been designed to make typing easier, some consider it a worthwhile effort and on the whole assert that the virtual keyboard is fully useable and is quite innovative.

Third-party Web Application

It was originally announced when launching iPhone that it would support third-party applications through its web browser, Safari. So far, though Apple has not fully supported any third party applications, some are already available. Moreover, with the release of Apple's software development kit, various supported applications will foreseeably make the web browsing experience even more enjoyable.
